Computerworld – Sprint is in advanced testing of an iPhone, possibly for sale this fall, that would run at first on a 3G wireless network rather than Sprint’s faster WiMax, according to recent reports.

Is it a cruel joke to fuel the Verizon iPhone rumormongers out there, or is it legit? Qualcomm , which invented the CDMA chipset, has posted a job opening on its corporate site, calling for an “iPhone developer guru.” CDMA, of course, is the standard that Verizon’s wireless network uses.
